Seriously though. Who wears sunglasses in winter; it just sounds ridiculous right? It’s long been rejected as a fashion statement come winter but why should it? Over the last few years, it has become more fashionable and acceptable. I mean, you have to agree, they do not stop looking great because it is cold.

Winter Sunnies, Yes or No?

aint no sun shy

We all hear about how important it is to protect our eyes during the summer, but what about winter? According to experts, the sun sits lower in the sky and at a different angle during the winter months, especially in the northern hemisphere. This means that UV rays are significantly less during winter, but sun exposure is at its peak.

If that’s not convincing enough, there are other health benefits too. They protect your eyes from the cold wind and snow that dries them out making them irritated and red. These handy go-to’s are second to none for wrinkle protection. Just think of how much squinting you could avoid during winter when the sun rears its head while looking your absolute best! So why should we go around blinded by the sun just because it is not July?

However, just make sure to choose a pair that has 100% UVA/UVB protection and the right coloured lens. The colour of the lenses can make a huge difference when shopping for these wardrobe essentials.

Here is a quick guide on how to show your best sight!

Grey lenses are great for reducing light intensity, and they do not distort colours or their contrast.
