Feline. Wouldn’t that make for a chic eyewear brand name? It would feature a standard collection of cat-eye sunglasses and then move onto prints for the next season (preferably Autumn/Winter). You could style your sunnies with an immaculate wardrobe filled with crazy cat print garments. Fun!

We should at this point announce that this will not be a thing, at least for us. The point of this interview is to not only brag about the potential ‘hype’ for some brand name, but also to speak with the one blogger who’d probably approve our absurd ramblings. www.thekittlyluxe.com is a blog that explores pretty much everything you need to keep motivated as a young Millenial. Join us as we dive into the details of Holly’s life in the now.

Amazing Blog name! We’re curious about its origin…

Hey Kholi, thank you so much! It was born out of the combination of my two big loves in my life: cats and style! I always wanted my affiliation with cats to be represented in my blog name, as they’re so close to my heart. I brainstormed a few words that signified style and beauty, and decided on The Kitty Luxe as “the one”.

You’re a blogger with a Masters in Mechanical Engineering. How do you manage these two different worlds on a daily basis?

I actually graduated in July 2017, so I’m taking a tiny break from the world of Mechanical Engineering, for now, to focus on my true passion, my blog. When I was at university, however, it was a lot of juggling priorities and meeting delaines – on both sides! Managing both engineering and blogging was definitely a challenge, but it was so rewarding. Especially since I got my First Class Masters degree, and I’m up for two blogging awards this year! It can definitely be done, it just takes a lot of determination and dedication.

Can you tell us a little more about your life in Cardiff? Depending on the weather, how do you usually wear and pair your outfits?

In Cardiff, the weather is always temperamental. There would be times when I’d have 3 outfit shoots planned for the week and a random storm will have other plans for me! Due to this, I am a big fan of layering, and creating a capsule wardrobe of carefully selected items that can be combined in a variety of ways, for a variety of weather conditions. Of course, my big fluffy faux fur jacket was my bestie during the Welsh winters!

Social Media is forever on the rise and often surpasses blogs and magazines with viewership, followers & engaging content. What advice would you give to younger bloggers who are interested in taking their social platforms to the next level?

I’m always writing Blogging Tips and other content to help smaller bloggers that are just starting out in the industry, as it’s so easy to be overwhelmed by what’s going on in the world of blogging. The one big piece of advice I’d give is to stay true to you. There are hundreds of bloggers out there, and not one of them is you, and that is 100% worth reminding yourself of from time to time.

Colour tinted sunglasses have been a hot trend this Summer! What do you think the next eyewear trend will be for A/W 17-18?

I’ve been loving colour-tinted glasses for a pop of bright colour this summer, and I so hope the trend is here to stay. But I predict that more people will be buying bulkier, statement frames and using them as focal points for their outfits – That’s what I’ll be doing, anyway!

A funny fact about you is that you laugh like Jimmy Carr. Who would your friends say you dress /look like?

Actually, my friends always comment on the fact that I “always look different” when I see them! I try to push myself outside my style/beauty comfort zone constantly by trying out new trends or bringing an old one back. I certainly see it as a good thing, though!

Just for fun: If you were chosen as Creative Director of a high-end fashion label, who would you put on your catwalk and why?

I’d love to have a wide variety of people on my catwalk, from those with disabilities to those of plus size, to smaller petite individuals like myself! I’d just love to see more diversity on the fashion circuit, and I hope there’s going to be more advances surrounding this subject in the future of the fashion industry.
