Former James Bond actor, Roger Moore, has confirmed that he will be wearing his eyeglasses to the grave, citing the uncomfortably of contact lenses and improbability of laser surgery as well as add a stylistic flare to the former MI6 superstar.
Moore claims the glasses not only give him confidence, but an edgy youthful appearance that hides his advanced age. The eyewear does serve to make the former 007 look younger, but also lends a slight sex appeal very similar to that of Jack Nicholson. If the hip and happening Mr. Nicholson can pull it off, surely a former Bond man can. Moore was seen recently in the UK sporting pink-tinted indoor/outdoor eyewear with gold frames. He was later seen in thick black framed glasses reminiscent of the 1950s.
Roger Moore reportedly owns hundreds of pairs and styles of sunglasses and eyeglasses. He is photographed across the UK in differing styles—proving that the actor may have been type cast in Hollywood, but had never been so in real life.
Despite the Bond star’s age (born 1927) he is recently revamping his image. He earned a star on the walk of fame in 2007 and has a memoir titled My Word is My Bond coming out in 2008 and even received a knighthood in 2003. He is actively involved as good will ambassador for UNICEF and resides in Switzerland.
