Orbis International
http://www.orbis.org/
As part of our regular commitment to NGO’s and Foundations, In March 2008, SBG provided free of charge $10,000 worth of prescription eyeglasses to ORBIS. This $10,000 of prescription eyeglasses came in the form of 100 eyeglasses which were given to a poor rural area (Baotou) in Inner Mongolia. ORBIS was the first organisation to introduce multi-tier pricing for rural eye care services in China. Having an intimate knowledge of the availability and need for eye care services to the poor, ORBIS was an ideal partner allowing SBG to make the most worthy contribution to those genuinely in great need.

The SMG Group was proud to be associated with this years Golf Invitational Tournament 2008 in Sydney this year. The competition has proven to be an ongoing success with over AUD$250,000 being donated since the tournament commenced back in 2004. This year, the ten days of torrential rain cleared on the first day of the tournament and saw 4 days of brilliant sunshine for the 256 players. The finish of the tournament saw the finish of the good weather and saw the rain return as the winning putt was holed. What a week. Great weather, great food, great functions, great golf, great entertainment, and great trophies. SmartBuyGlasses was proud to present the major prizes to the winning females on each day of the tournament. The lucky winners were P. Steinberg (twice), L. Buckley, L. Strachan, and the major tournament voucher was presented to G Hohnen at the Gala Dinner.
